How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
The 2000 live-action adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s classic children’s book, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, is a beloved holiday classic. While the movie is generally considered to be family-friendly, there are a few moments that could be considered to be sexual in nature.
The first of these moments comes when the Grinch (Jim Carrey) is trying to steal Christmas from the Whos. As he sneaks into the Who’s home, he is confronted by Cindy Lou Who (Taylor Momsen). In order to distract her, he begins to dance in a suggestive manner, complete with pelvic thrusts and suggestive hand gestures. While it is meant to be humorous, it is definitely a moment that could be considered to be sexual in nature.
The second moment comes when the Grinch is in the Who’s home and is trying to steal their Christmas tree. As he is doing so, he is confronted by Martha May Whovier (Christine Baranski). In order to distract her, he begins to dance in a suggestive manner, complete with pelvic thrusts and suggestive hand gestures. Again, while it is meant to be humorous, it is definitely a moment that could be considered to be sexual in nature.
Finally, there is a moment when the Grinch is in the Who’s home and is trying to steal their Christmas presents. As he is doing so, he is confronted by the Mayor of Whoville (Jeffrey Tambor). In order to distract him, he begins to dance in a suggestive manner, complete with pelvic thrusts and suggestive hand gestures. Again, while it is meant to be humorous, it is definitely a moment that could be considered to be sexual in nature.
Overall, while How the Grinch Stole Christmas is generally considered to be a family-friendly movie, there are a few moments that could be considered to be sexual in nature. While these moments are meant to be humorous, they are definitely not appropriate for younger viewers.
