There is a disturbing scene where the sheriff invades Sophie's home under the assumption she is hiding Grover. After he forces her to allow this intrusive search, he physically assaults her as if raping her, and throws her down on the couch. She is terrified and screams; he looks around, supposing Grover was hiding somewhere in the house, waiting to protect Sophie. Satisfied, he leaves.
