Storytelling (2001)
Storytelling is a 2001 American comedy-drama film written and directed by Todd Solondz. It is a darkly humorous exploration of the sexual moments in the lives of two different families.
The first story follows Vi, a college student who is struggling with her sexuality. She is in a relationship with Marcus, a fellow student, but is also attracted to her professor, Mr. Scott. Vi's story is filled with awkward sexual moments, from her first encounter with Marcus to her eventual seduction of Mr. Scott.
The second story follows Scooby, a high school student who is struggling with his own sexuality. He is in a relationship with his girlfriend, but is also attracted to his male classmate, Toby. Scooby's story is filled with uncomfortable sexual moments, from his first kiss with Toby to his eventual sexual encounter with him.
Storytelling is a powerful exploration of the sexual moments in the lives of two different families. It is a darkly humorous look at the awkwardness and confusion of teenage sexuality, and how it can lead to unexpected and sometimes uncomfortable situations. The film is a thought-provoking look at the complexities of human sexuality, and how it can be both liberating and confusing.
An older man lies across a bed and tells a young woman to remove her clothes (we see her nude from the side), turn around and bend over; the man approaches her, we hear him unzip his pants and he penetrates her from behind. The screen is covered by a digitally-produced red square during the actual sex act, but we hear everything and we see the participants in close up from the side a few times, with the man thrusting and the young woman jerking with her hands on the wall. In the unrated version, the scene is fully uncensored.
A young man tells another young man that he "likes him" and it is suggested that a sex act is performed when one young man lies back on a bed, the other young man approaches him and we hear his pants unzip.
We see many photographs of a fully nude woman in different positions (exposing all parts of her anatomy).
A woman moves rhythmically and moans while straddling a man (she is nude and we see her bare breasts from the side and later from the front as she dresses).
An older man touches a young woman's hand and face.
