The Green Inferno (2013)
The Green Inferno (2013) is a horror film directed by Eli Roth. It follows a group of student activists who travel to the Amazon rainforest to save the local tribe from destruction. While the movie is full of intense and scary moments, it also contains some surprisingly sexual moments.
The most obvious sexual moment in the film is when the main character, Justine, is captured by the tribe and tied up in a hut. While she is tied up, the tribe’s leader, Karamakate, begins to undress her. He then proceeds to rub her body with a mysterious oil, which is meant to be a ritualistic cleansing. This scene is both intense and sexual, as it is clear that Karamakate is attracted to Justine.
Another sexual moment in the film occurs when Justine and her friends are captured by a group of cannibals. The cannibals then proceed to strip the group and tie them up in a hut. While the group is tied up, the cannibals begin to dance around them in a sexual manner. This scene is both disturbing and sexual, as it is clear that the cannibals are using the group as objects of pleasure.
The Green Inferno is full of intense and scary moments, but it also contains some surprisingly sexual moments. From Justine’s ritualistic cleansing to the cannibals’ sexual dance, the film contains some surprisingly sexual moments that add to the overall horror of the movie.
No sexual act happens onscreen. But some non-explicit nudity (male & female) is shown.
In one scene a man is urinating on a tree. You can see most of his penis and testicles.
There are a couple of shots of the upper half of a man's penis as he urinates off-camera. The scene is comedic. No nudity scene with the way it is shot.
Some discussion about female genital mutilation.
A young woman is being prepared for a ritual (female circumcision) and is bound to two posts while completely naked. Nudity is hidden although we briefly see her nipples under an improvised straw bra as she struggles.
A man masturbates. We can see his hand moving offscreen. Another character chokes him out of anger and the man continues to masturbate. This scene is brief and is played for humor.
A tribeswoman inserts a wooden claw-shaped tool into three young women's vaginas offscreen. This is not a tortuous act, it is still hard and painful to watch and is not for the squeamish and may be disturbing to some especially if you have suffered from female genital mutilation. The third woman is chosen for the ritual and we see blood running down her legs. No nudity is shown. This scene is done to test the 3 woman's virginity but it is still a torture act because she is wailing and being tied down with ropes.
