Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1999)
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a 1999 musical film adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical of the same name. The film stars Donny Osmond as Joseph, Maria Friedman as the Narrator, and Richard Attenborough as Pharaoh.
The film is known for its lighthearted and humorous take on the Biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors. However, the film also contains some surprisingly sexual moments.
The first of these moments occurs when Joseph is presented to Pharaoh. As Joseph is brought before Pharaoh, he is wearing a tight-fitting, brightly colored outfit that leaves little to the imagination. Pharaoh is clearly taken with Joseph's appearance, and the two share a flirtatious exchange.
The second sexual moment occurs when Joseph is reunited with his brothers. As the brothers embrace, Joseph's brothers can't help but admire his physique. They even go so far as to comment on his "muscles" and "shapely legs."
The third sexual moment occurs when Joseph is reunited with his father, Jacob. As Jacob embraces his son, he can't help but admire Joseph's body. He even goes so far as to comment on Joseph's "fine figure" and "beautiful eyes."
The fourth and final sexual moment occurs when Joseph is reunited with his wife, Asenath. Asenath is clearly taken with Joseph's appearance, and the two share a passionate embrace.
Overall, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a lighthearted and humorous take on the Biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors. However, the film also contains some surprisingly sexual moments that add an unexpected layer of depth to the story.
In several scenes, women are dressed in what appears to be skintight flesh colored fabric. This fabric is tight enough to give off the illusion of nudity, especially in the rear. Nipples are "visible" in the form of pasties and questionably small amounts of glitter. The women's crotches are covered in little more than decorative golden leaves.
Men are frequently shirtless.
Women frequently wear clothes that are tight and reveal some skin. Nothing explicit.
There is one scene where Joseph's master's wife is said to "see a lot of men against his [her husband] will". She tries to seduce Joseph by telling him to lie down with her. He resists. In this scene, the women wear revealing clothes that appear to reveal their "breasts". It is actually tan material (like worn by figure skaters) with glitter where their nipples would be. In the scene where the Pharaoh sings Joseph his dream, there appear dancers in very thin blue bodysuits, thin enough to make their backsides quite prevalent.
There is an extended dance scene in which the female dancer wears quite revealing attire. Multiple moments in which the camera focuses on her crotch and buttocks. Scene finishes with the dancer leading an elderly character off, pulling her dress up her leg, enticing him. Sex is implied
