Election (1999)
Election (1999) is a classic American comedy-drama film directed by Alexander Payne and starring Reese Witherspoon and Matthew Broderick. The movie follows the story of Tracy Flick, a high school student who is determined to become the student body president, and Jim McAllister, a teacher who is determined to stop her. While the movie is primarily a comedy, it also contains some surprisingly frank sexual moments.
The first sexual moment in the movie occurs when Tracy Flick and Jim McAllister are alone in his classroom. Tracy is trying to convince Jim to let her run for student body president, and Jim is trying to talk her out of it. As they talk, Tracy moves closer to Jim and begins to unbutton her shirt. Jim is obviously uncomfortable and quickly leaves the room. This scene is a great example of how Tracy uses her sexuality to manipulate people.
The second sexual moment in the movie occurs when Jim and his wife are discussing their marriage. Jim's wife reveals that she had an affair with a former student of Jim's, and Jim is clearly hurt and angry. As they talk, Jim's wife begins to cry and Jim moves closer to her. He then kisses her passionately, and the two embrace. This scene is a great example of how Jim's emotions can get the better of him, and how his wife's infidelity affects him.
The third sexual moment in the movie occurs when Jim and Tracy are alone in his classroom again. This time, Tracy is trying to convince Jim to let her run for student body president, and Jim is trying to talk her out of it. As they talk, Tracy moves closer to Jim and begins to unbutton her shirt. Jim is obviously uncomfortable and quickly leaves the room. This scene is a great example of how Tracy uses her sexuality to manipulate people.
